Throughout its long history and since its foundation in 1913 the brand Aston Martin has become associated with what they do best, high performance, luxury sports cars. The company itself changed many owners since its founders Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford opened up their shop in Kensington, although it was most prosperous under the Ford ownership and it had changed hand most recently in the March of 2007. when it was bought by the investment consortium led by the chairman of Prodrive, David Richards, while Ford will still keep a stake in the company. The sum the investment consortium had to pay was a staggering 848 million dollars or 475 million pounds.

Aston Martin has become known for their high quality "grand tourers", however over the recent years their sports cars have become the lusted - after objects of admiration for the sports car enthusiasts’ world over. Although it was first presented as a concept car at the International Auto Show in Detroit where it caused quite a stir, the crowds eagerly anticipated International Car Show in Geneva where the Aston Martin V8 Vantage was finally present as a production version.
