Aston Martin DB7

Aston Martin DB7 was a replacement for the Aston Martin V8, however as the financial backing came from the Ford motor company in collaboration with Jaguar, it borrowed its platform from the Jaguar XJS, however it was seen more as an evolution as many changes were made from the Jaguar XJS platform. The debut of the car was at the International Car Show in the Geneva in 1993. and the line was in production from the autumn of 1994. to winter of 2003. Aston Martin DB7 is a "grand tourer" and there were 2 models, a coupe and a convertible. Aston Martin DB7 boasts the title of the most popular and most profitable car from the Aston Martin family, as 7000 cars were sold in the period the line was in production. It was also a predecessor of the now famous Aston Martin DB9.

The convertible version of Aston Martin DB7 or the Volante was introduced db7in 1996. at the Auto Show in Detroit, while 1999. saw the introduction of the more powerful DB7 Vantage 12 at the International Car Show in Geneva. It was a vastly improved and powerful model with a 48-valve, 6 liter V12 engine with the options of either a 6-speed manual or the 5-speed automatic gearbox. The highest speed for the Volante with the manual gearbox was 185 mph, while the automatic gearbox version could reach 165 mph. The acceleration was 0 – 62 mph at 5 seconds flat. Year 2002. saw the introduction of another version the so-called V12 GT, which differentiated from the previous models by the automatic transmission and some other more cosmetic changes. For the Aston Martin DB7 with the I6 engine there were 4 limited editions available, while Aston Martin Volante was produced in 3 versions in the limited editions.
